Walking through the Fear
Lost within the maze of thoughts
it becomes clear there is no easy way out
Each turn brings a new perspective,
some insignificant, some bold and
seemingly brilliant,
an answer to prayers
Easy to hide behind self imposed delusions
oblivious to the changing scenery
The twists in the road
lead back down the mountain and
through the woods
so dense, the trees obscure the sunlight,
complacency leaving behind certainty in its wake
So many detours within the maze
it’s hard to recognize the genuine path
The opportunities are many,
choosing is the hardest part
Wandering in the twilight of this dream
I only want to wake up, but
first I have to finish what was started
so very long ago
Only by following the maze I have made,
only by walking through the fear,
only then will I emerge from the shadows and
begin to walk in the light of my life
